The Planning, Environment, and Local Government Bar Association (PELGBA) is pleased to announce its annual conference, set to take place on Friday, 12 July 2024, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the DDRC, Distillery Building, located at 145-151 Church St.
Speakers & Topics
This year’s conference will welcome leading legal professionals and academics to discuss recent developments in planning, environment, and local government law. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with recent developments and gain insights from esteemed speakers in domestic law, climate change and EIA, habitats and SEA directives.
Chaired by The Hon. Ms Justice Farrell, this conference promises to be an invaluable forum for legal professionals, policymakers, and academics to discuss and debate critical issues facing our environment and planning sectors.

On behalf of PELGBA, I look forward to welcoming attendees from across the legal, professional and academic sector to attend our annual event.
This year’s speakers which include the Attorney General and the Chair of Aarhus Compliance Committee and will provide updates and recent developments across a range of areas — including EIA, habitats and SEA directives, the Planning Bill, the Aarhus Convention, in addition to climate change and planning enforcement.
Planning and Environment Law is critical to areas of enormous public significance, including housing, renewable energy and climate action. The Planning Bill is also a matter of significant public debate. The aim of the conference is to enhance understanding and contribute to the debate on these crucial matters.
