  • Jessica is a practising barrister having completed a Law Degree, a Masters in Medical Law and a Barrister-at-Law Degree. Jessica has a general practise and works primarily in the areas of family law, liquor licensing law, medical law, personal injuries and criminal law.

Jessica is currently a director and board member of Deaf Enterprises Ireland, a registered charity which provides training and placement opportunities for Cork’s deaf and hard of hearing community. The Board is responsible for the running of the charity and it employs a general manager and twenty four deaf and hard of hearing employees to assist it. In her role with Deaf Enterprises Ireland, Jessica sits on the development, strategic and governance committees which ensure the charity is transparent in its operations and adheres to the Charity Governance Code, including required financial obligations. Jessica also provides legal advice to the Board in all relevant matters.

Jessica is a committee member of University College Cork’s Exams Appeal Committee. Her work with UCC’s Exams Appeal Committee involves ensuring that fair procedures are adhered to when the Committee is deciding on examination appeals.    Jessica is also a member of the Development Committee of the Cork International Film Festival.

Jessica was appointed to the Social Care Workers Registration Board, CORU by the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly in May 2021 until July 2024. The Registration Board’s function is establishing and maintaining a Register of members of the profession, assessing, approving and monitoring training courses for the health and social care professions under the Act, and establishing the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics and standards of performance to which social care workers must adhere.

From 2017 to January 2021, Jessica was secretary with the Cork Family Lawyers Association where she organised meetings, educational events and charity events. Jessica is now a committee member of the CFLA.

Jessica was part of the Contact Tracing Team in UCC during the Covid-19 Pandemic from April 2020.

Jessica was a Member of the Council of the Bar of Ireland from 2022-2024 and continues to sit on the Library Committee and the Circuit Liaison Committee.
