Hugh is a practising barrister with a general civil practice and a particular interest in medical negligence law.

He obtained his LLB (Law and Political Science) from Trinity College Dublin.

He subsequently obtained his Barrister-at-Law degree. He was awarded the John Brooke Memorial Prize (1st in course) from the Benchers of the King’s Inns.

Before practising as a barrister, Hugh worked in law both at home and abroad. This included working for the Medical Negligence Unit of the Legal Aid Board in Dublin and within the French tech industry in Paris.
