Biography
Gráinne is a barrister from Mayo who practices in Dublin and on the Western Circuit in civil and criminal litigation. Gráinne was called to the Bar in 2012 having graduated from the Honourable Society of King’s Inns. Gráinne received her Honours LLB in Law and European Studies from the University of Limerick, completing a thesis entitled “The History, Development and Future of The Right to Silence”.
Gráinne has a general practice specialising in employment law. She has extensive experience in the areas of inter alia, landlord and tenant law, family law and tort. Gráinne appears regularly before the Workplace Relations Commission Adjudicators and the Labour Court.
Gráinne is an Adjudicator for the Residential Tenancies Board.
Gráinne writes regularly for Bloomsbury Professional Irish Criminal Law Update. She has previously written articles for the Irish Law Times. Gráinne has also lectured in Contract Law and Nursing Law. She has extensive experience conducting discovery projects on behalf of the State.

Gráinne has provided a number of CPD’s on civil matters.
Gráinne has extensive experience lecturing. She has lectured Nursing Law in NUIG.
Prior to that Gráinne lectured Contract Law in University of Limerick.
Gráinne was also a part time Lecture in Griffith College Dublin lecturing in Land Law, Introduction to Legal Systems and Methods and Business Law.
Gráinne is a past participant of the Centre for Talented Youth Ireland and returning years later to lecture in Criminal Law at CTYI.
Pro-bono & Voluntary
Gráinne is a signatory to the Public Interest Law Alliance Pro-bono pledge, since 2020.
In addition, Gráinne is a panel-barrister to The Bar of Ireland’s Voluntary Assistance Scheme which provides legal assistance to NGOs, Civil Society Grounds and their members. In 2018 through the scheme Gráinne acted in a discrimination case taken with the assistance of the Galway Traveller Movement.
Since 2012 Gráinne has regularly volunteered at Free Legal Aid Clinic’s in Mayo, Galway, Dublin and more recently by telephone.
Additional Information
In addition to a general practice, Gráinne has an active interest in the use of mediation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolutions. The profile of Gráinne’s practice is varied and includes advising charities, shopping center landlords, a wide number of SMEs, insurance companies, public bodies and private clients.
