Happy International Women’s Day.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme, #EmbraceEquity, is especially significant for The Bar of Ireland, which has just launched the Equitable Briefing Policy to encourage firms and briefing entities to consider gender when selecting counsel.
The Bar continues to value and champion the contribution of women in the legal sector through the In Plain Sight initiative, with an artist being commissioned to paint a portrait of Frances Moran, the first woman barrister to take silk in Ireland.
The Afghan Justice Appeal, a collaborate effort across the Irish legal sector, continues its work in securing accommodation and supporting the transition of female Afghan Judges to Ireland.
More information on these initiatives can be found below, and we would greatly appreciate your support in whatever way you can.
