Members of the Bar took part in the 2015 Calcutta Run on Saturday 16th May, which raised funds for Fr Peter McVerry and homelessness in Calcutta. This year’s event saw 1,064 participants supporting this worthy cause, with runners and walkers following a 10k and 5k route from Blackhall Place through the Phoenix Park.
The Calcutta Run was set up by the legal profession 17 years ago to help homeless youths in Dublin and Calcutta. The aim of run is to actively involve all participants in raising funds for the Calcutta Run beneficiary charities Peter McVerry Trust and GOAL. 100% of all funds raised by participants and supporters go directly to both charities and over the last 17 years in excess of €3m has been raised.
