Blankets and winter clothes are amongst the items donated by members of The Bar of Ireland today to Goal’s Syrian Emergency Appeal. Goal is the largest international NGO operating in Syria. It supports almost one million people there every month with food, water and other essential aid, and its latest drive is targeted at preparations for the approaching winter months.
Goal’s CEO Barry Andrews is pictured receiving the donation from Chairman of the Council of The Bar of Ireland, David Barniville, SC and Grainne Larkin BL, who is Chair of The Bar of Ireland’s External Relations Committee. Members of the public who wish to contribute to the Goal Appeal can donate goods at any of Topaz’s participating service stations across the country until October 10th. Financial donations can also be made at www.goalglobal.org/donate; by telephoning 01-902 9444; or by posting a cheque, cash or bank draft to GOAL, PO Box 19, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.
