Susan Jones BL is a Barrister based on the Eastern Circuit with a broad Civil practice, representing Plaintiffs and Defendants before all the Courts.

The practice is a strong civil practice. Susan has established success in applications seeking redress under the Protected Disclosures Act 2014, including applications for interim relief.

The case of Clarke -v- CGI Food Services Limited & anor was the the first case in the High Court regarding interim relief under the Protected Disclosures Act 2014.

Susan Jones BL acted as Counsel for the Plaintiff Employee. The Circuit Court granted relief in favour of the Plaintiff ordering the employer to maintain the employee’s pay and benefits pending the determination of his complaint to the Workplace Relations Commission. The Employer appealed to the High Court, where the Plaintiff employee was again successful and the High Court ordered the continuation of the Plaintiff’s pay pending final determination of his Workplace Relations Claim. 

Yippi Trading Ltd v John Costello and Another [2013] IEHC 564 The case concerned an application pursuant to section 31 of the Land and Conveyancing Law Reform Act 2009. The litigants were co-owners of a car park, held by the parties in fee simple as tenants in common in equal shares. Susan Jones BL acted as Counsel for the Defendant, where the application to partition the car park was successfully resisted. The case involved a detailed examination of the remedies available under section 31 of the Land and Conveyancing Law Reform Act 2009.
