Biography
Kate has a civil practice encompassing clinical negligence, personal injuries, insolvency, financial services, professional negligence, insurance and probate law. Kate practised as a solicitor in a specialised civil litigation firm qualifying in Michaelmas 2011. Kate was called to the Bar in Michaelmas 2016. Kate has appeared as counsel before the Court of Appeal, the High Court, the Circuit Court and the Coroners Court. Kate writes articles and presents CPD seminars on topical legal issues.
Recent Cases & Legal Work
Kate acts in a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters, on behalf of plaintiffs or defendants, including cases relating to clinical negligence, personal injuries, probate, personal insolvency, banking, asset and debt recovery.
Kate has appeared in all courts, in plenary, summary, and injunctive proceedings. Kate has acted on behalf of interested parties at inquests. She has also acted in alternative dispute resolution.

- Bar of Ireland & Southern Law Association CPD 10/7/19 – chaired by Frank Clarke C.J. – Statute of Limitations and the Supreme Court medical negligence judgment in O’Sullivan -v- Ireland & Ors.
- Cork Solicitors CPD 12/12/18 – Cancer Screening and Misdiagnosis Claims
- Southern Law Association 21/6/18 – Tracker Mortgage Controversy and appeal procedure. Proceedings arising out of the recent scandal and implications for those who have been overcharged on their tracker mortgage.
- Southern Law Association 21/6/18 – “Security for Costs, a tool in defending proceedings”. Issues relating to applications including recent caselaw.
