The Employment Bar Association (EBA), will hold their Annual Employment Law Conference on Thursday, 15th December at 1.30pm in the Distillery Building, Dublin 7. The Conference will also be streamed live online, allowing members, as well as other professionals, employee and employer representative bodies, and academics, an opportunity to attend.
This annual conference of the Employment Bar Association will host two sessions chaired by Danny McCoy, CEO, Ibec and The Honourable Ms Justice Marguerite Bolger and will feature many accomplished employment law practitioners who appear regularly before the WRC, Labour Court and civil courts in contentious employment law related matters.
It will explore very topical subject matter including social media and employment law, the future of the workplace in a post-pandemic world, religion and the workplace and regulating the gender pay differential.

Speaking on the Annual Employment Law Conference, Niamh McGowan, Chair, Employment Bar Association said
This years EBA conference has a fantastic lineup of speakers, who are going to delve into very relevant and urgent employment law matters.
Touching on matters such as social media and the workplace, very topical in the lead up to Christmas and office parties, Mairead McKenna SC is offering important and practical advice for employers and employees.
Cathy Smith SC will present on the legal status of workers in Irish law with particular focus on the recent Court of Appeal decision where pizza delivery workers were found not to be employees, and will ask have workers in the gig economy the benefit of employment rights under Irish law?
With Oisín Quinn SC examining the future of the workplace in a post-pandemic world; trends that are driving changes, challenges these changes are creating and the legal implication they entail.
This Conference will serve as an important meeting point for practitioners from across the professions, as well as stakeholders; to consider these matters in depth, and participate in debate it creates.
This Conference is open to all but would be of particular interest to legal practitioners specilaising in employment, equality and labour law, and those working in related policy fields.
