A Notice from The Bar of Northern Ireland: Exemption from Bar Library Membership

The Bar of Northern Ireland have issued a notice to those practitioners who may have previously expressed an interest in applying for exemption from Library membership of the Northern Irish Bar

Should it be the intention of practitioners to practise as a barrister in independent practice in Northern Ireland in 2022, they will either have to seek Exemption from Bar Library membership or join the Bar Library. Members will also be required to apply for your Practising Certificate simultaneously.

Please follow the links below for supporting information and application forms for both exemption and membership of the Bar Library.

Please note that fully completed and evidenced applications for exemption must be received no later than Friday 2nd September to guarantee a decision by Tuesday 30th September. If further assistance is required, please do not hesitate to contact pc@barofni.org
